What are Apprenticeships?

Apprenticeships are a great opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised qualification, gain work experience and develop transferable skills - all while getting paid!

Energy & Utility Skills do not recruit Apprentices however we can provide you with information on the next steps you should take.

Apprenticeships available at several levels centred on a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) or Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) and include key or core skills, employment rights and responsibilities, and in some cases a Technical Certificate.

Apprenticeships are not a fixed length, but usually take between 12 and 14 months to complete.  By the end of the programme, the mix of training undertaken ensures that you are both competent to do the job you have been training for, and you have the essential underpinning knowledge and transferable skills.
