Production Technician

The Job

As a Production Technician you will be tasked with offering support to the Production Team Leader in activities relating to production at the Station. In addition, you will ensure the Station is monitored and operating in accordance to company policy and procedures. Other key elements of the role include:

  • Support the Production Team Leader in all Production related matters.
  • Analyse and diagnose any problems relating to the operation of the Plant.
  • Ensure the Plant operates in compliance with the appropriate statutory requirements such as Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental Protection Act.
  • Review the operation of the Station and assist in the review, change and improvement where and when required.
  • Develop understanding of company and Station objectives.
  • Conduct routine Plant testing activities.
  • Carry out company specific projects and activities as part of self-development.
  • Supervise contractors on managed contracts.

Have you got what it takes?

The nature and level of the role requires the individual to possess excellent communication skills both written and verbally with a strong ability to work under pressure. The ability to analyse and diagnose problems in a rational and methodical manner would be a distinct advantage and an aptitude for teamwork would be desirable.


What are the entry requirements for this job?

A HNC/ONC in an engineering related discipline or a relevant Apprenticeship is desirable, as is possession of NEBOSH or IOSH Certificate. Extensive operational experience within a Power Station would be required or, alternatively, experience of engineering within Power Generation would also be considered.


How much will I get paid?

The salaries for this role can range from £13,000 to over £30,000 depending on the employer and the employees' level of experience.
