Network Operative

The Job

- Preparing holes by hand or use of mechanical equipmet
- Using maps and plans to locate digging location
- Laying and repairing pipes and mains systems
- Connecting homes and business premises to the gas network
- Repairing holes and pavements on completion of work

Have you got what it takes?

Formal qualifications are not essential for the role although some GCSEs would be an advantage. Individual companies may have their own entry requirements so it is advisable to check with them. Due to the nature of the work a practical, resilient and hard working manner is essential along with good communication skills. Working as part of a team is desirable.

What additional benefits are available?

The salary for this level of position is around £11,000 a year. Once qualified, this can increase to between £18,000 and £25,000. This can increase if there is the possibility of overtime or extra shit work.

What progression and development are available?
