Entry Requirements

Apprenticeships are a major route in to the industry and give you the chance to earn while you learn the skills required of a Cable Jointer.

A company will ask for GCSE/S grades or equivalent to show that new starters will be able to cope with Apprenticeship training.

For an Apprenticeship you will usually need at least four GCSE's (A-C)/ S grades (1-3), including Maths, English, and other relevant subject such as Science, Engineering or Design and Technology.  Since each company has its own recruitment policy, you should check exact entry requirements with the company.

An Apprenticeship in the electricity industry involves on-the-job work experience and placement, structured electricity related training and off-the-job college qualifications such as a Technical Certificate.
