The gas industry is made up of 3 key areas:
Gas (Transmission and Distribution)
Gas is transported and distributed by a network of pipes across the country to a customer's meter.
Gas (Utilisation)
Gas from the meter is used by the customer for heating cooking or industrial process. Customers are domestic, industrial or commercial or can also be users of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)
Gas Emergency Service
Responding to reported gas escapes (inside and outside), fumes gassing, metering faults and reports of no gas.
The industry is closely regulated by OfGEM (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets).
