Energy from Waste Engineer

 

The Job

You will assist in the achievement of the Company's published objectives by providing Energy from Waste engineering expertise input into the delivery of projects, work plans and feasibility studies within agreed cost, time and quality parameters.

You will also be expected to lead on Energy from Waste engineering projects and deliver them on time and on budget.

Have you got what it takes?

1. Complete outline engineering design of projects and schemes within the Energy from Waste department and wider waste management business.
2. The preparation and administration of tender documentation, contracts and consultant appointments.

3. The review of technical documentation and designs supplied by third party contractors and technical input to improve process and ensure value for money.

4. The provision of project management support, including control of contractors and consultants in the planning, construction and commissioning phases of operation and development projects within the Energy from Waste Department.

5. The management of health and safety.
6. The provision of process engineering and technical support for general operational and development projects with respect to thermal waste treatment, general waste processing, and plant optimisation etc.

7. Monitor and review emerging technologies, technical developments and engineering practices, providing management data as necessary.

8. Assist with other activities as requested.

The skills you would need

1. Degree in process, chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.

2. Working towards or attained Chartered Status.

3. Thorough technical knowledge of process design and engineering practise and application particularly in the field of large combustion plant and or Electrical Power generation.

4. Thorough knowledge of environmental legislation, planning regulations and Regulations relevant to Energy from Waste activities

5. Well organised and logical thinker. Self-motivated with the ability to work to deadlines and constantly juggle priorities.

6. Good team player. Good written and oral skills. Sense of humour and resilience.

7. Computer literate with good knowledge of project management software and CAD.

8. Full driving licence.
