The Job
You will assist with the operation and maintenance of the Energy from Waste facility as required by the site management. Your primary responsibilities would be:
1. Protecting the Environment by ensuring compliance with all Environmental Management Systems and working practices whilst you carry out your day to day work.
2. Working in accordance with Company Health and Safety Procedures at all times.
3. Assisting with the general operation and maintenance of the Energy from Waste plant as required.
4. You will be required to work in shifts to ensure that the Energy from Waste plant is operational 24 hours a day.
Have you got what it takes?
1. Assist in running the Energy from Waste operations to generate electricity and where necessary taking appropriate corrective action to maintain operations at an optimum level.
2. Ensuring waste is delivered onto the site and stored correctly to maximise the potential energy to be generated.
3. Maintaining the cleanliness of all working areas.
4. Ensuring that plant operating levels are recorded out at the required times.
5. Ensuring that the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn at all times. Gloves must be worn when handling waste materials.
7. Be aware, at all times, of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety and for the Health and Safety of your work colleagues.
8. Offloading Vehicles, storing and moving waste around the site.
9. Carrying out other tasks within your ability, as and when required.
The skills you would need
1. Ability to work as part of a team.
2. Ability to perform a range of tasks and duties under direction from management.
3. Ability to operate machinery and equipment which you have received training on.
4. Clean and tidy by nature with good self-discipline and timekeeping.
5. Reasonable numeracy and literacy skills.
6. Basic computer keyboard skills.
7. Ability to carry out instructions and requests with accuracy and effectiveness.
In Addition
You will receive training on all equipment, machinery and procedures that you are required to operate or control.
You will be given all of the Personal Protective Equipment necessary to carry out your job role.
