The Job
You will assist in the achievement of the Company's published objectives by providing environmental engineering expertise input into the delivery of specific projects, work plans and feasibility studies within agreed cost, time and quality parameters.
You will also be expected to lead on environmental engineering projects and deliver them on time and on budget.
Have you got what it takes?
1. Provide environmental engineering support to operational and development projects at the request of the Project Manager.
2. Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and operational Working and Landfill Gas Management Plans in line with client briefs.
3. Provide site based engineering support and control of contractors and consultants in the construction, commissioning and operational phases of projects
4. Act as a representative of the Company as directed when liaising with Regulators, customers and the general public; maintaining a professional and courteous approach at all times.
5. Monitor and review emerging technologies, technical development and engineering practices, providing management data as necessary.
6. Assist with other activities or projects as requested.
7. Preparation, administration and management of consultant appointments.
8. Preparation administration and management of construction contracts.
The skills you would need
1. Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
2. Working towards or attained Chartered Status, or equivalent in relevant field.
3. Excellent project management skills.
4. Good knowledge of the waste industry, environmental legislation and planning regulations, particularly in relation to emissions control and monitoring.
5. Well organised and logical thinker. Self-motivated with the ability to work to deadlines and constantly juggle priorities.
6. Good team player. Good written and oral skills. Sense of humour and resilience.
7. Computer literate with good knowledge of project management software and/or CAD.
8. Full driving licence.
