Types of Diplomas

Energy & Utility Skills (EU Skills) is working in conjunction with partner Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) to develop three Diplomas which are now being delivered in schools and colleges across England:

Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment

The Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment introduces students to the world that we live in. It gives young people an understanding of land and materials, how the built environment affects people and communities and what factors influence its development.

Diploma in Engineering

The Diploma in Engineering introduces young people to some of the key themes and provides them with an understanding of basic engineering principles.

Engineering Diploma students will complete a series of compulsory and optional courses, all designed to develop their knowledge, skills and experience in the industry.

Individuals studying this Diploma will develop an understanding of how to apply theory and practice, learn about the history of engineering and further their knowledge about future developments and predictions in the industry.

Diploma in Environmental and Land-based Studies

The Diploma in Environmental and Land-based Studies focuses on how land and water environments are used in society, sustainability and how people impact on the environment. Topics covered include working with plants and animals, environmental sciences, sustainable resources and the effects we have on the world around us.
