The Scheme received the Welsh Language Board's full approval under Section 14 (1) of the Act on 20 February 2007.
Energy & Utility Skills Cymru has adopted the principle that in the conduct of public business in Wales it will treat Welsh and English on a basis of equality. This Scheme sets out how Energy & Utility Skills Cymru will implement that principle in the provision of services to the public in Wales.
Energy & Utility Skills Cymru recognises that individuals can express their views and needs better in their preferred language and that enabling them to use their preferred language is a matter of good practice rather than a concession and that the denial of that right could place them at a real disadvantage. Energy & Utility Skills Cymru will therefore offer the public the right to choose which language to use in all dealings with it and will also apply this principle to its expectations of the bodies with whom it deals.
