New Modern Apprenticeship framework for the gas industry in development

11 July 2012

Further to consultation carried out during May, work has begun to develop a new Modern Apprenticeship framework for Gas Network Operations (upstream gas). For Gas Utilisation (downstream gas), the existing Modern Apprenticeship framework has been extended until March 2013 so that suitable qualifications can be developed.

It is crucial that these new developments meet your needs and we would encourage you to complete and return the survey below, if you haven't already done so.

Previous article on this subject:

The new Modern Apprenticeship Framework for the Gas Industry in Scotland is in development.

Each nation in the UK needs to ensure that any Apprenticeship framework meets the needs of employers in that nation and can be put forward for public funding.

In Scotland, Modern Apprenticeship Framework approval is granted by the Modern Apprenticeship Group (MAG) which is an independent group that draws its authority from Scottish Ministers. Membership includes representatives from key stakeholders involved in the management and delivery of the Modern Apprenticeship programme in Scotland

During May 2012, the Energy & Utility Skills Group (EU Skills Group) are consulting with gas employers in Scotland as to the requirements of the new framework and the feedback will be incorporated in the new framework submitted to MAG.

If you employ (or plan to employ) Gas Modern Apprentices in Scotland, we would welcome your contribution to the consultation and a survey can be found by clicking here.

Please complete the survey and either email it to carolyn.davies@euskills.co.uk or post it to:
