Low-carbon

Funding Available

Funding available for upskilling and multi-skilling employees

Emphasis is increasingly being placed on the energy sector to initiate a step change in the use of low carbon energy generation technologies and the establishment of wind farms in Wales is growing year on year.

To facilitate the growth of the energy sector, there is a need to increase the skills of those working within the industry and those who support its development.

To help stimulate the development of the industry in Wales, the Welsh Assembly Government through their Sector Priorities Fund, a European Social Fund supported programme, have provided funding to Energy & Utility Skills and their Built Environment partners.

This project is aimed at sector employees who live in Wales. It will assist employers to address current skills gaps and the future skills needs associated with a more established renewable energy sector.

> List of courses available to participants through the selected providers

Funding for individuals participating in the project is on a match funding basis, with SME employers benefiting from a 70% subsidy from the Welsh Assembly Government. Large employers will also receive a subsidy for their employees who participate on the courses, at the rate of 50%.
