Apprenticeships are open to anyone aged over 16 living in Scotland, whether you are just leaving school, have been working for years or are looking to start a new career.
Apprenticeships in Scotland can take between one and four years to complete depending on the level of Apprenticeship, the Apprentices' ability and the industry. In most cases, Apprentices work towards a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) or a Competence Based Qualification (CBQ) at Level 3 or above.
Apprenticeship funding is available from Skills Development Scotland (SDS). As the employer, you are responsible for providing your apprentices with an induction into their role, giving them on-the-job training and paying their wages.
