EU Skills has a dedicated Apprenticeships Manager and a team of national and regional Skills Directors who can work with you to discuss your skills needs and help you get started with Apprenticeships.
EU Skills can advise on how Apprenticeships can help address skills gaps and provide information to support employers through the process of Apprentice recruitment, training and employment.
EU Skills can provide you information about:
- Apprenticeships available in your industry
- Levels of investment
- Access to Government funding
- Understanding Government policy
- Apprenticeships outside of the energy and utilities sector that may support your organisation (i.e. Customer Service)
- Finding a suitable college/training provider
- Ongoing support
- Identifying the most appropriate Apprenticeship programme for your organisation
To get started with Apprenticeships you could also:
- Contact colleges or training providers in your local area
- Advertise in the local and national press and visit your local Jobcentre Plus
- Advertise vacancies and filter candidates more easily using the Careers Wales Apprenticeship Matching Service. Currently, only employers in Swansea, Neath Port-Talbot, Anglesey and Gwynedd are able to advertise their vacancies as Careers Wales are piloting the system.
