Energy & Utility Skills (EU Skills) understand that the core to competence is through National Occupational Standards (NOS).
We work with our employers to develop NOS which describe what people in employment should be able to do and what they need to know to carry out their job. NOS can be used as the basis of vocational qualifications when a formal assessment process is added.
NOS define the performance and knowledge requirements of part of an occupation and packages them together so they can be used to define the whole occupation.
We are working on putting NOS into a Framework providing a flexible system for employers to use. We are making NOS easier to understand and simpler to use in a variety of ways. This work helps us to support work based learning packages, such as Apprenticeships and to develop career progression routes within our industry.
National Occupational Standards and Qualifications Feedback Questionnaire
This questionnaire is designed to allow the opportunity to feedback comments on the Energy & Utility Skills (EU Skills) National Occupational Standards, qualification structures and qualification content.
Once received, your comments will be discussed at the next National Occupational Standards Review Panel. If it is considered the comments are an Awarding Body issue, these will be passed onto the Awarding Body Forum for EU Skills, once we have the sender's permission. If the comments relate to the standards setting development activities, further investigation will be made via the relevant occupational liaison forum.
