On Friday 13 May, Energy & Utility Skills attended the Institute of Water’s President’s Dinner and Awards 2016 where we were proud to recognise, in partnership with CABWI, the Water Industry Skills Champion of the Year 2016 and the Water Industry Skills Employer of the Year 2016.

These two particular categories are at the core of the Energy & Utility Skills Group where our focus is to ensure the energy and utilities industries have the skilled workforce they need – now and in the future.

Congratulations to the winners:

  • Martin Baggs, Chief Executive at Thames Water – Water Industry Skills Champion of the Year Award 2016.
    Martin was recognised as being someone who not only meets the criteria, but lives them every day.

  • United Utilities and South West Water – Water Industry Skills Employer of the Year 2016.
    These organisations were jointly awarded for their business approach which visibly attracts,
    develops and retains talent whilst being an employer of choice.  They have shown consistent
    and credible recruitment and employment approaches, including promoting the sector as a
    career opportunity to a wide, inclusive and diverse workforce.
