Energy & Utility Skills has developed a short survey to better understand the sector’s needs regarding the review and development of the National Occupational Standards (NOS) in the sector.
This survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete, and is open until Tuesday 7 December at 17:00.

National Occupational Standards specify UK standards of performance that people are expected to achieve in their work, as well as the knowledge and skills they need to perform effectively.
For the energy and utilities sector, these standards are developed by employers and experts under the guidance of the Energy & Utility Skills Group.
They are then subject to formal consultation and are approved by UK government regulators to ensure they reflect industry practices from across the UK.
All the most up-to-date standards are available from the UK National Occupational Standards database.
The survey will give you the opportunity to feedback about:
- National Occupation Standards suites you would like to see reviewed or developed
- The nature of the change or developments needed
- Why the changes or developments are needed
- How the standards will be used once updated or developed
You will also be asked to provide contact details so that we can contact you to discuss your feedback further, if required.
All responses will be consolidated for a sector-wide view to inform future funding applications and business planning for Energy & Utility Skills.
