Energy & Utility Skills is looking for industry representatives to help us review these standards

Help shape National Occupational Standards for gas and water network construction

Energy & Utility Skills has recently been appointed by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to review the Gas Network Construction (GNC) National Occupational Standards (NOS), and is inviting employers, training providers and professional bodies to get involved.

Alongside the Gas Network Construction NOS review, Energy & Utility Skills is also preparing to review the Water Network Construction (WNC) NOS.

National Occupational Standards simply describe what an employee needs to do and needs to know to perform a work activity. They are subject to formal consultation and approval processes and are approved by UK government regulators.

The Gas Network Construction and Water Network Construction NOS were last revised in 2018 and 2019 respectively, and are being reviewed to ensure they reflect current working practice and technological changes.

Get Involved

We are keen to hear about the latest innovations and working practices in the gas and water industries to ensure the revised NOS continue to reflect industry best practice.

As such, we are asking industry representatives to register their interest in either sharing sector-specific technical expertise on a one-to-one basis, or to be involved in workshops in early September to review the current NOS.

To register your interest, please email standardsreview@euskills.co.uk with your contact details and confirmation of which NOS review you would like to be involved in. A member of the team will be in touch.

For further information about how we will use and protect any information you provide for us as a part of the framework development process, please read our Standards and Qualification Review Privacy Notice.
