Bernard Zakary
Head of Energy & Utilities Independent Assessment Service
Bernard Zakary joined the company in October 2019 as Head of the Energy & Utilities Independent Assessment Service (EUIAS). Bernie joined the EUIAS from Highfield Qualifications where was is Director of Qualification Development. Bernard was responsible for developing regulated qualifications and end-point assessments across a wide range of sectors and assessment plans including aviation, rail and health and social care.
He has extensive awarding organisation experience in qualification development including in EDI and Pearson. Bernard started his career in teaching and was Head of Department for Mathematics, ICT and Business Studies. He worked for Coventry Education Authority as an Education-Industry Advisor during which time he set up the Gaydon Technology Centre in partnership with Rover Group. Bernard was also the Principal Officer for ICT at the Qualification and Curriculum Agency (QCA).
