M.a.D Matters - Energy & Utility Skills

M.a.D Matters

M.a.D (Making a Difference) Matters works with colleagues to create a positive and rewarding working environment that supports colleagues and makes Energy & Utility Skills a great place to work.

M.a.D Matters

The objectives of M.a.D Matters are:

  • To open the lines of communication and provide effective feedback
  • To help implement positive change and improve organisational culture
  • To support colleagues with their health and wellbeing

“Aside from the everyday challenges of working life, MaD Matters is a great way for us to interact as colleagues on an informal level, creating a positive and healthy working environment for everyone at Energy & Utility Skills.” – Helen Reed, MaD Matters Chair (Interim)

Charities

Each year, our M.a.D team dedicates our fundraising activities to four charities with the aim of:

  • Raising awareness of good causes
  • Celebrating individual and team success
  • Fundraising whilst having some fun

Thank You

The M.a.D team have developed an internal Thank You Scheme. A M.a.D Thank You is an opportunity to express your appreciation to a colleague and/or team that has ‘made a positive difference’ to your working life by sending a personalised Thank You postcard. These are distributed weekly throughout the office to create a working culture in which we value and recognise the effort and impact of our colleagues’ day to day contributions and ensure we embrace our company values and behaviours in everything we do.

Snapshot

In the spirit of ‘Making a Positive Difference,’ the Energy & Utility Skills Group do all we can to give something back to society and our local communities by holding a variety of fundraising and social events throughout the year.

Not only is this an opportunity for us to help others, it’s also a great excuse for us all to take a break and enjoy some fun and laughter with our fellow colleagues.

From ‘Wensleydale Wednesday’ to ‘Quiz and Chips’, you name it, we’ve done it!
