Power Skills Scheme implementation – first Nominating Officer approved

The Power Skills Scheme, launched earlier this year, provides a standard for the accreditation and registration of a wide range of power network craftsperson competences. Underpinning Energy & Utility Skills’ competency accord between power transmission and distribution companies and contractors, the Power Skills Scheme is designed to help standardise craft skills requirements within the industry and economise on the need for training and assessment as companies move between networks on different contracts.

Most recently, the first Nominating Officer for the scheme has been approved. Congratulations to Steve Smith of Advantage NRG who was the first  individual to successfully go through the application and interview requirements for the role. The Nominating Officer role is key to the identification and approval of Grandfathers for registration to the scheme, and Steve is the first of a number of recent applications that we will now be taking forward.
